Working outside the box

I agree with those who suggest I am not the world’s expert when it comes to writing about home extensions, but I was asked to write some blog posts for a company wishing to gain more SEO space on their website. Happily, but cautiously, I set about the task.

The first article was about the best bedroom retreat you could own and how asking a home renovator might help you come up with the best solutions.

Online research became the key issue here. I had to find out:

  • What would ultimate bedrooms contain? I thought it was just a bed and a wardrobe…
  • Do Australian’s call it a walk in wardrobe or a walk in closet? It’s a walk in robe…
  • What was the cost of buying t-shirts on special offer? K-Mart sells 2 for $12…
  • Which stores could you buy from and do they have Walmart in Australia? No, so which world brand stores are there? What are their clothes specials this week? It was fun to compare prices…
  • How do bedroom renovation companies work there? The same as elsewhere…
  • What laws need to be adhered to if you want to add an extension to your bedroom? So many…

Visiting some 26 different websites gave me all the background information I required. Selecting my own version of 500 words became a breeze.

Should I open a tinny?
